In this four-part exhibition series, BRASILEA founder Walter Wüthrich accompanies you on his emigration adventure: Beginning in Basel in 1939, shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War, and takes you on his journey by ship to Brazil, which is experiencing an economic and cultural boom under the government of Getúlio Vargas. The exhibition informa about aspects of the history of migration between Switzerland and Brazil, which will be explored in depth in the supporting programme.

For the first time, BRASILEA is presenting an exhibition based on historical and biographical research. It features large-format pictures, videos, audio clips and interactive elements for all ages.
