Laufen and Brasilea Foundation present the creative collaboration: \u201cImpress\u00f5es 2018:19 \u2013 from Basel to Brazil\u201c, an art project, that combines design innovation with the production of SaphirKeramik and focuses on the impact of Brazilian art and culture in Switzerland.<\/p>\n
Laufen lives the dialogue between architecture, art and design, constantly exploring how things change in the creative world and how the creative world changes things.<\/p>\n
Brasilea Foundation promotes cultural and artistic exchange between Brazil and Switzerland and offers a platform for Brazilian artists and projects in Basel\/ Switzerland.<\/p>\n
Created to honor Brazil and its culture, this year\u2019s works have been curated and developed by Brasilea in collaboration with the artists Maria-Carmen Perlingeiro, Alex Flemming, Zez\u00e3o, Christina Oiticica, SHN (Eduardo Saretta, Haroldo Paranhos, Marcelo Fazolin). The artist selection is based on the existing exhibition history of Brasilea, in which each of the artists has a central role.<\/p>\n
For the 3rd edition of \u201cImpress\u00f5es\u201d, the sculptor Maria-Carmen Perlingeiro exclusively designed a polyhedron, which Laufen then produced in SaphirKeramik. The material allows for freedom to design minimalistic, architectural lines and for the production of extremely narrow radii and filigree walls with high robustness. Laufen sees design as the key to shape this material as intelligently, functional, environmentally friendly, resource-saving and aesthetically pleasing as possible.<\/p>\n
This gave rise to ideal conditions for the artistic development of the handmade polyhedron, which serves as a 3-dimensional basis for the work of the 5 artists.<\/p>\n
