Neto in First Person

The Embassy of the Republic of Angola presentsin Kollaboration with the BRASILEA Foundation an exhibition on the 100th anniversary of the first President of Angola, Agostinho Neto.

The exhibition shows over 40 photographs and video material documenting the life of Agostinho Neto. Before his political career, the first president was a successful doctor and poet. “Neto in First Person” is one of the many activities worldwide in honour of Agostinho Neto, who would have turned 100 years old on 17 September 2022.

 

“Neto in First Person” will last from Saturday 17 until Sunday 25 September 2022.

 

Vernissage: Saturday, September 17th 2022 from 10:30 a.m., registration required via info@brasilea.com

 

Finissage: Saturday, September 24th 2022 from 2 p.m.

14:30 – Lecture by Prof. Dr. Elisio Macamo, Professor at the Center for African Studies of the University of Basel:
“Agostinho Neto and the dream that never ages”
The lecture in English will establish a relationship between Neto’s life and work and Africa’s quest for self-determination in all its manifestations.

15:00 – Q&A with Prof. Dr. Elisio Macamo.
15:30 – Guided tour of the exhibition “Neto in the First Person”.
16:30 – Apéro riche
18:30 – Closing
